![]() ![]() ![]() They would do anything for each other and they were so protective of each other. There is no doubt that Tatiana is the one for Alexander. However, in this case, it’s not really a love triangle at all. Usually, I am not a fan of stories that involve a love triangle between siblings, or even love triangles in general. I especially loved how they first met, because it reminded me so much of my own grandparents. Which, I have to admit, I’m a sucker for. In addition, you have their wonderful love story. One of my favourite things as a reader is when an author manages to do that. Her description is so vivid that you can’t help but feel like you’re there. Simons made me feel like I was living through the siege of Leningrad along with Alexander and Tatiana. It had everything I look for, historical detail, interesting plot, and characters that you can’t help but care about. ![]() From the first word to the last word I was hooked. ![]() ![]() Boyfriend material was amazing as a standalone. ![]() Luc was always annoying, and Oliver had always been the way he was, and they did nothing out of character in this book either. Anyway, I think except for the ending I liked everything about it. But I loved it? It might be because I took my time with it so maybe I forgot the first half. And I’d recommend it if you loved Boyfriend Material.Ĭame here right after finishing this book and I think I might be odd one out. ![]() An epilogue really could have helped here.īut still, I enjoyed this. It wraps up completely, sure, but it’s also incredibly sudden. It felt to me that the primary conflict, resolution, and end of the book all happened in three pages, and it left me feeling unsettled and a little bewildered. But I can’t help feeling that the end was too abrupt, and we needed something to feel complete. I laughed a lot, and it was a joy to be back with Oliver and Luc and their friends and Luc’s mom. I thought this was going to be a five star book for me. This book is about how their relationship has matured as they handle challenges. That doesn’t mean everything is easy all the time, though. This was such a nice look at Luc and Oliver’s relationship. ![]() Boyfriend Material was one of the first modern romance books I’d ever loved, and I was so excited to get my hands on its sequel. ![]() ![]() We’re in a better position to resist moving than we were 20 or 30 years ago. And so if we can make something work … we’re at the stage now where the league, ownership, our teams are strong. And I think the club and by implication the fans have been in situations that have been unfortunate, and maybe they’ve been (a) little bit a victim of circumstance. It’s one of the larger markets in North America. “Our hope is that one of the options that are being explored and considered will come to fruition.”īettman was asked why he’s been so dogged in his attempt to find a solution in Arizona after all these years of arena instability there. ![]() “The Arizona Coyotes are going to explore what their other options are in the greater Phoenix area, and we’re going to monitor that closely,” Bettman said. ![]() But first, one last-ditch effort to save the Coyotes in Arizona. ![]() ![]() I only realised recently just how important atmosphere is to a novel. ![]() I couldn't put this wild tale of fact and fiction down. And I like how close to real events she has kept the framework of her story, how she weaves in the Romanov family, Grigori Rasputin and the imperial Faberge eggs (I found this addition quite fascinating). The author says in her note at the end: The Russian Revolution, truth be told, needs little to no fictionalization to be a fascinating time period, full of beauty and horror and wonder. But are we to blame if we simply accept things the way they are without trying to change them? This novel asks that you think about one thing: It is not our fault where and into what circumstances we are born. We see people being dragged from their homes and murdered by the aforementioned angry poor men for crimes they had no say in. ![]() We see angry poor men being driven into the ground by the hard labour they perform, while their employers sit in cosy, gold-plated luxury. It expertly blends the historical facts with elements of Russian mythology and sensitively portrays both sides of the revolution by allowing you to come to your own conclusions about which side is to blame - if, in fact, either is. ![]() This novel so beautifully captures the cities of St Petersburg and Moscow at the height of the 1917 communist revolution. ![]() Saint Petersburg was a city of illusions. ![]() ![]() "synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.
